STORM helps you deliver your best work. Its non-destructive toolset allows you to check, tag,
select, edit, grade and deliver in whatever order you choose using your original RAW material.
STORM is a brand new product developed in-house at The Foundry to assist RED Digital Cinema
production workflows. STORM is useful from the moment your media comes off the camera, right
through to final delivery, whether installed on an on-set laptop or a post-production workstation.
It's intuitive, fast, affordable.
Check your takes
STORM gives you the tools to easily check exposure, focus, colour, audio and editorial
content on-set as soon as your RED material becomes available. It provides all the
professional tools you’d expect to check your material such as loupe, histogram,
still-store, vectorscope and parades. You can compare shots to your still-store
and open up multiple viewers to see shots side by side. Check for colour
consistency, lens changes, changes in frame rate, or any other metadata.
Trim and tag shots with your own labels or notes and search your Shot Bins
for those Tags, or any other metadata. Sort your Shots, Looks, Tags and
Templates into a user defined multi-level Bin structure. Scrub or play
the thumbnails in the Bins, view the metadata by simply hovering over them.
Organising and finding your media becomes simple.
Get the Look
Technical grading can be achieved with the RED Look giving you complete control
over how your R3D and RMD metadata files are interpreted, flipping easily back
and forth between your own settings or those the media was shot or stored with,
in the RMD file.
STORM has a flexible effects stack that can accommodate any number of additional effects
and a wide selection of extended colour tools - all of which can be limited to
picture ranges. This makes it easy to develop and trial creative Looks quickly
so that the director and DoP can be confident that they will be able to fulfil
their artistic intent. Alternatively apply one of many Looks from a preset library.
Keep it RAW
All image processing in STORM is in floating-point and on the original material.
You can rest assured that no captured data is going to be thrown away and that the
output will be of the highest possible quality. Single effects or whole stacks can
be saved as Looks for re-use and reference later in the post-production workflow.
Out to edit
Assemble your media on the multi-track timeline to explore the editorial intent
further. Synchronize to external audio files. Add Looks to shots directly in the
timeline. Export the timeline, or Bin of circle takes, to Final Cut XML along with
selects in QuickTime, or consolidated R3D files. Re-conform from FCP to original R3D
sources, re-applying any Looks that are being developed.
Create dailies in a number of formats, trimmed with handles and with a technical grade
applied. User configurable burn-in of metadata, exposure warning and user look-up tables.
A real breeze
STORM is fluid and easy to use. It always works on the native footage at full
resolution, full bit depth and in real time. STORM gives you the creative tools you
need within a consistent framework to create deliverables in different formats and
colourspaces. It is cost effective and focussed on the actual needs of those at the
sharp end of production.
